The Official Kim Zimmer Fan Club Chat -- January 28, 2004

Kim: Hi everyone! And welcome to the 5th chat with KZFC. Sorry it's taken me so long to do another one. Can't wait to see all your questions..so let's get started!

Blake: Hello Kim! Do you like Reva having psychic ability? What do you think of it?

Kim: I loved the whole idea in the beginning when it looked like it was going to go somewhere... but now it seems they only write it when it facilitates some plot. A device... I hate that.

Christine: Out of all of the actors on GL which one or ones are you closest to in real life?

Kim: Robert of course, Ron Raines, Michael O'Leary, Ehlers, and Laura W. I am also still tight with Laura Bell.

Has your son's acting career expanded or gone any further since he played the little boy with dead parent on Guiding Light? Do you think he will appear on GL ever again?

Kim: The casting department at G.L is still very interested in finding something more for Jake to do on the show as is Ellen Weston she loves Jake. He wants an agent for his birthday this year. LOL!

Christine: Hi Kim, where do you see Reva's future heading? Can we expect her to get back together with Josh?

Kim: At this point I don't have a clue what they're doing. I either want them to split us up for good to stimulate new story for both of us... Or get us together to conquer Springfield together.

Mary: Have you ever attended one of your high school reunions?

Kim: We have reunions every five years... I have been to all but three which means I've been to three.

Rosie: Kim, do you have any plans for doing a play this summer?

Kim: There is the possibility that I will be at the Augusta Barn in Michigan this summer. They will probably be doing a tribute to the man who first opened the Barn Jack Rigotzy, who passed away this Christmas.

Denise: Hootie HOO Kim!!! Is there anyway we can talk you into doing some sort of cabaret during the Gathering weekend this year? I know it would sell out in minutes!!! It would be the highlight of the whole weekend!!!

Kim: I would love to but I'd probably have to beat up Bradley Cole for that Sat. evening spot...LOL

Tanya: Would you consider doing a CD of your favorite songs?

Kim: Why don't you all post a list of the songs you'd like to hear me do to the Site. K? Maybe then I'll put something together. I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Kim: You all have such great Questions tonight this is fun Thanks!

Gwen: Did you have a good Christmas? What did you and your family do?

Kim: We had a wonderful Christmas. We spent it with my sister and her family and my mom and dad in Michigan. First time in 9 years we've all been together for Christmas.

Kim: I would also like to take this time to thank all of you who sent the ornaments this year. We had a tree up for about 3 days before we went to Michigan and the only ornaments I put on it were all of yours!!! Thank-you sooo much!

Sheila: What do you think of having a fan club get together next year? (For your fan club).

Kim: You mean like a brunch? On maybe that Friday or Sun. morning it's very possible.

Sheila: How much decorating do you do when it comes to the Christmas holidays?

Kim: When we are home for Christmas with exception to this year.. I am an obsessive decorator. I collect Santas and they are everywhere! My house is a very Christmassy (what?) house.

Tracy: What was the most meaningful present one of your fans has even given to you?

Kim: All of the gifts I receive from my fans are meaningful. And I sincerely mean that!!!

Sue: What specific act or gesture was the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

Kim: I think I would have to say the joy I get from the hard work that Shelli has put into this site...It takes a very special person to commit the way Shelli (and Melissa before she left) has for the years she's been doing this. Thanks Shelli... I love ya Gal!!!!!

Lisa - What's something that makes you see red?

Kim: When I read about injustices to defenseless children and REALLY BAD DRIVERS!!!!!!!

Barbara - What is the strangest autograph request you have ever had?

Kim: One guy wanted a picture of me in the position that he'd drawn on the card....NAKED of course!

Tanya: Do you and AC have special plans for Valentines Day this year?

Kim: Valentines Day has been about our son Jake for the last 14 yrs. It's his birthday. So, until he goes away to school it will stay that way. Besides, everyday with A.C. is Valentines Day. (You knew that was coming)

Nicole - Do you get a lot of fan letters? Do you answer fan mail? How can I get an autograph picture from you since I will probably never make it to NY to see you in person?

Kim: If you ask Shelli really nicely maybe she'll see to it that I get one signed for you. She's the responsible one.;-)

Maddie: Kim, do you read your message board? Do you ever reply to the posts?

Kim: I do read the message board and sometimes I'll respond to Shelli. But I do love reading the fun y'all seem to have together.

Erin: You once said you would come back to Kansas if Shelli invited you, did she?

Kim: Not Yet!
Shelli: lol
Kim::-*

Rachel: Will you be attending the Gathering events this year?

Kim: Of course!!!

Kendra: What is your favorite song?

Kim: I really love all the music from the Yentl sound track by Barbra Streisand.

Amy - What type of books do you like to read? Are you reading anything currently?

Kim: I’m a James Paterson and Ken Follet freak. Detective novels and mysteries!!!

Karen: Please share with us any of your preconceived notions of having a fan club. What has surprised you the most about it and what would you like to see more/less of?

Kim: I really thought that I wouldn't have the time for what Shelli would demand from me, but she knows exactly how to gently persuade me into doing exactly what she wants me to do... She's that good! I never thought it would be so much fun to visit.

Mike: I'd love to see more pictures from you childhood. Is there any chance of you sharing some?

Kim: ah............maybe.

Cathie: Besides the onscreen relationships you have been involved with yourself, who is (or who was) your favorite couple from the show?

Kim: I think I'd have to say Billy and Vanessa.

Joan: What storyline don't you like?

Kim: Here’s my politically correct response... There's something to like about every story:-D

Sherry: What is the worst trouble you got into while in high school?

Kim: I can't answer that question without getting into more trouble! LOL!

Cindy: Do your kids ever get sick of people knowing who their mother is? Is it hard for them when you're out as a family in public?

Kim: Generally the people we meet are very sweet. It was only a problem at Disney World one time. And that was really no big deal.

Donna: What do you like to do in your leisure time?

Kim: Sit in front of a fire in the mountains with my family with a big glass of fine red wine and play Scrabble. Also snow skiing, watching my kids play sports, etc.!!!

Robin: What's the one thing you'd change about Reva? What would you change about Kim?

Kim: REVA'S READY TO HAVE SOME FUN AGAIN!!! Enough already with the DRAMA. She needs to kick up her heels one last time with Bill (he is old enough now and I don't mean a sexual thing just getting into some trouble together)

Jill: Where do you like to shop for clothes?

Kim: There are several little boutiques here in Montclair that I love and also Neiman Marcus when the shows paying!!!

Tonya: How do you deal with a bad script that tears at the characters integrity?

Kim: Oh Wow! What insight! Are you saying you've witnessed this lately (just kidding). There really is nothing you can do but give it your all as a professional. People have fought those battles before and lost. Life is too short to sweat the little stuff or all actors on Daytime would be dead!!!

Stephen (Tanya's son): Kim I enjoyed meeting you in Hilton Head. Will you be coming back?

Kim: That tournament is the same time as another one I have played in for a long time as well. It's always such a trying time to figure out which one to attend each year.

Kayla: Do you have a lot of close friends? Do you have a best friend? Do you and A.C. have date nights?

Kim: I have a lot of friends, but no one I trust more than my friend who also happens to be my husband A.C. We do have date nights which usually involve a movie or two.

Jill: Do you have any pets?

Kim: At the present time we have 2 dogs (Cody-mutt and Kylie-mutt), the greatest dogs alive!!! We have had cats and fish, mice, rats, rabbits and big fish in the pond out back.

Rachel - Can you give us some insight on how you pulled off that flip that Reva did into the hot tub back in H.B./Reva/Josh paralyzation storyline?

Kim: I've always been very athletic I just went with the pull from Robert and it flipped me over!

Rachel - Okay, I know you probably won't know this, but do you know the singer or the song title to that last song Reva and Josh danced to in the bar scene after Billy got Reva out of jail to meet Josh during the Reva/Josh/Annie storyline? It is a question that has been asked a few times on the board.

Kim: I thought it was Dolly Parton's I will Always Love You! So, no.

BGL: Will there be anymore performances of the "Vendler's Playhouse" readings on the horizon? I saw you in Kansas a couple of years ago. It was great. Please come back to the Midwest, as in Chicago, Springfield or Champaign, Illinois!!
The mystery story has been getting better every week! I've always wondered if you were disappointed in the way the "stalker story" ended. I know it's old news but I loved that story and thought they really dropped the ball, it deserved a better ending!

Kim: What stalker story! LOL! Did it ever really end! Who was the stalker I'd love to know!!!

Your Michigan Friend Robin - Hi Kim, Happy early birthday! Are you still enjoying your work on Guiding Light?
Are you going to perform at the Barn Theater any time soon?
Are you planning any trips back home to Michigan any time soon?
Hope all is well with your family and hope to see you soon. From your Michigan friend, Robin.

Kim: Hi Robin, I may be back at the barn this summer we'll see!

Rose: Looking back through the years, are you in the place you thought you would be at this time in your life?

Kim: I guess I could say that I thought I'd have been on Broadway but I really think things are better the way they turned out. Broadway will always be there.

Mary: How much do you adlib on GL?

Kim: In rehearsal we say things a lot the way we think they should really be said. LOL! But when we roll tape we stay pretty close to the script.

Tanya: Kim when you and Laura Wright work together in a scene, who is more easily distracted, you or Laura?

Kim: We're both usually a mess and we crack each other up a lot. Laura likes to run lines a little more than I do. I like the lines to be a surprise so I never really know them all that well. It's a little trick for me to keep it all fresh.

Barb - What type of storylines do you enjoy doing the most ? Family Issues, Awareness for Diseases,Drugs, etc. or any others that you are in that are pertaining to a specific topic?

Kim: I like family driven stories when there is something at risk. They have to be strong on character though and weak on plot device.

Unforgettable Songs: Here is a question for Kim Did you enjoy acting with Barbara Eden in the TV Movie you played her character's best friend in and did you read about the loss of her son Matthew and since you have children did you send her a card or letter or call her and tell her how you feel for her losing her child especially her only child is so sad and how does she do it? Do you admire her for being so strong?

Kim: I really didn't get to know Barbara well. I was only on that set two days and she was very busy. I did meet her son though and he was so sweet. I feel terrible, but to tell you the truth I never even knew he had passed.

Kim: Well all I have to go study for tomorrows episode where Josh and Reva have wild and crazy nookie on the desk of Spaulding Enterprises!;-) Thanks for all the great questions! We’ll do this again sooner than later. Love to you all!!!! Kim
