When Reva became blind, Kim automatically had two strikes against her. Since joining GL in 1983, Zimmer's alter ego has had amnesia, been kidnapped, arrested, gotten married almost as many times as Elizabeth Taylor, came back from the dead - twice - and was cloned! The other factor working against her was the fact that Kim Zimmer is always brilliant. No matter the story, she is able to make her scenes work, as evidenced by her winning three Emmys. How could she possibly top herself playing a blind person?

If there's a will, Zimmer finds the way. She quickly eradicated any doubts about her ability to live up to the daunting challenge. Zimmer has always made Reva a vibrant, feisty woman who never takes anything lying down. Not even the loss of her vision could extinguish her fire. Reva may have wanted to give in to despair in the wake of the tragic accident, but she put on a brave face and was determined to do everything in her power to overcome this latest obstacle.

However, Zimmer's brilliance truly shone through in the scenes after Reva discovered her blindness could be permanent. Waiting until she thought Noah left the room, Reva broke down and realized that she's not invincible after all.

The multi-talented actress continued to amaze all by not letting her present condition curb her behavior. Incensed by Edmund's manipulation of the media regarding the incident which cost Reva her sight and Cassie her baby, Reva, with gun in hand, stormed the palace and turned the tables on Edmund.

Zimmer's realistic depiction of a person who suddenly loses her sight is quite impressive. Even her costars agree. "Kim Zimmer portrays one of the best blind people I've ever seen," praises Beth Chamberlin (Beth). "I love seeing her scenes. It's hard to remember that she's not blind. She does it so well. She's terrific at it."

Reva, who has always taken charge of any given situation, attempted to resume her life as usual upon her return to Springfield. Most importantly, she did not want her children to be worried or pity her. That plan was shattered, just like her spirit, as she tried to navigate the treacherous terrain of her home.

Zimmer's scenes with Mark Dobies, Robert Newman and Laura Bell Bundy have allowed her to display her amazing range and allowed viewers to see what a truly gifted performer she is.
