| There's no love lost between GL's Reva and Annie. Even now that Reva thinks Annie is her sister, the competition for Josh's love is more fierce than ever. But despite their animosity on-screen, Kim Zimmer and Cynthia Watros have a friendship off-camera that precedes Watros' GL days. They've been close ever since they worked together on the Off-Broadway play "Four Dogs and a Bone". Their rapport was obvious as the two discussed their characters' feud over a riotous lunch. Soap Opera Magazine: If you could say anything to each other, in character, what would it be? CW: Stay away from my husband! KZ: Let me have your husband, please! I want my children back. CW: We had a wonderful life, the kids were happy, and then you had to come back from Amish country. KZ: I had no idea he was involved with another woman. CW: Why can't you just stay away? Why do you always have to show up? KZ: Because Bud and I are soul mates. We're destined to be together forever and ever. Besides, it's what the fans want. (laughs) So get out of my life. CW: At least you're not saying "always." KZ: Oh, I'm sure I'll be saying "always" again. You know, I think somewhere deep down inside, Reva does like Annie... CW: Ha! KZ: ...but she's an obstacle to what Reva really wants, which is the love of her good man and her children. She wants her family back. How could that be wrong? It wasn't her fault that she had severe post-partum depression and drove herself off the end of a bridge. CW: I didn't know what I was getting myself into. KZ: I tried to go away, I tried to leave, and Josh came after me. CW: Is it the perfume you wear? All these men just fall in love with you. I can't even get one. KZ: You will, as soon as you get your act cleaned up. As soon as Annie goes through proper rehabilitation. CW: I'm fine. SOM: Does Reva feel sorry for Annie now that she thinks Annie is her sister? KZ: I think Reva has gone through different metamorphoses with this. In the beginning, she felt sorry for Annie because she knew that Josh and Reva were destined to be together. But then she got pissed. Because Annie was manipulating things to a certain degree that Reva was aware of. Now that Annie is pregnant, family is everything to Reva, and Annie is going to have a family. And the baby is a part of Josh, so she's doing the noble thing and letting him go. CW: How can you be kissing my husband when I'm pregnant? KZ: I haven't kissed him! CW: You have so! KZ: I have not. Not since Annie's been pregnant. CW: You kissed him the other day behind the bannister! KZ: No, we did not kiss. We did not kiss. CW: You didn't? KZ: No, they wouldn't let us. Josh and Reva do not kiss. As long as you're pregnant, our lips will never meet. CW: It's really sad that you have to live like that. KZ: If you weren't such a psycho, maybe you could get him back. CW: But nobody knows that except for me. KZ: Oh, yes they do. I hate to tell you but the people in Springfield know you're a psycho. (laughs) CW: I'm misunderstood. KZ: Blake definitely knows you're a psycho. CW: And how could you take the only person I have? I have no family. I have no one. KZ: I haven't attempted to take him away. He was just helping me. He was helping me with my search for my long-lost sister. CW: Yeah. (both laugh) KZ: She backed off when she found out Annie is her sister. I think that's the only thing that could have made Reva back off. After hearing all these stories about what this person Dani went through in her life and her desire to meet Prince Charming and be swept off her feet and have a family of her own, to finally realize that Dani is Annie --- and that she's her half sister and Sarah's daughter --- she has to let go. But I don't know how long she can without moving out of the city, without not being around him. It's an impossible situation. But Reva, being the noble person that she is, she's stepped back. CW: Oh, it's so hard for you. Annie doesn't understand Reva's situation at all. She doesn't understand why Reva just won't stay away. And that's what makes her really desperate. Josh is the only person who has really loved Annie... KZ: You think he loves you? (laughs) CW: ...so she's obsessed. He does love me! Well, he used to love me. That's why I want you to get out of the picture! He's the only person who is there for her, and she has latched onto him. She, with her addictive personality, has latched onto him, and it's really unhealthy now, but it's all she has. If she loses Josh, I'm afraid she will just go wild. That's what Annie desperately doesn't want. She's a survivor, and she's fighting for who she knows is the only person loving her in her life. And Reva's taking that away from her. So I think right now Annie is fearful of Reva and angry at her and want to hurt her emotionally for what she's doing to her. KZ: And you are hurting me emotionally. CW: I'm glad. The fans aren't happy, though. They love you. It makes me so...they just love you so much. KZ: They haven't always, though. They were split down the middle on the whole Annie thing until Annie became such a psycho. But I think the story's more successful now that we have this, because it was kind of going nowhere. You'll be fine. Believe me. CW: Yeah, if someone doesn't shoot me as I leave the studio. I got a letter from this lady today telling me she hopes I die a slow painful death. KZ: I got one of those once. Only once though. (laughs) You have to stop reading the mail, you have to stop reading the articles about you. Because it is really hard. But it will make you a better person. CW: Yeah. right. In one of those magazines there's a picture of me in that black negligee saying, "Why don't you and your sperm come and sit by me?" (Zimmer bursts out laughing) I really enjoyed that. SOM: Do you want this story to end? KZ: We've been ready to wrap it up for the last two, three months. CW: You know, they're going to make me look even more pregnant. Ooh, you are going to be in trouble! KZ: I'm going to look bad. CW: No, I have a feeling I'm going to be the one who comes out looking bad. They always have a way of doing that. KZ: I think it's a May sweeps story, when it will all come to a head. But supposedly, the fans love this story so much that it looks like it's never going to end. |
